ICRI Chapter Dinner Meeting & Presentation

STRUCTURAL STEEL – SURFACE PREPARATION, FIREPROOFING, AND COATING

Concrete repair contractors sometimes don’t take a wide enough view of the job. There is often structural steel work to be done and most concrete repair contractors have the necessary skills and equipment. Many however, just pass this work by.

We will review PFP (Passive Fire Proofing). What it is designed for and what it takes to qualify. We will discuss and review in detail the surface preparation standards of NACE/SSPC. We will cover how important the surface preparation is to the overall performance of the coatings.

And we will have time for follow-up questions and discussion.

This month's speaker is MALCOLM WIMER

He has spent his nearly 30 year career educating, training, and giving technical support to the steel coating and lining industry.

He has so many certifications from NACE, SSPC, ICRI, and ACI that we can’t even list them all here.

In addition to his job with Jotun, Malcolm has been a NACE instructor for thirteen years both nationally and internationally.

Malcom lives in

New Mexico and can be reached at 505-980-3412 or m3939w@aol.com
